Delete Your Account

This page explains how to request deletion of your CareDirect account and associated personal data. CareDirect is operated as a healthcare platform serving patients, doctors, and nurses across India.

Option 1: Delete from inside the app (recommended)

If you still have the CareDirect app installed, the fastest way to delete your account is from within the app:

  1. Open the CareDirect app and sign in
  2. Go to ProfilePrivacy & Security
  3. Tap Delete Account
  4. Review the warning, confirm with your password or OTP, and submit

Your account will be deleted immediately and you will be signed out on all devices.

Option 2: Request deletion by email

If you have already uninstalled the app, or are unable to access it, you can request account deletion by emailing our grievance officer:

To help us locate and verify your account, please include the following in your email:

For your security, we will only process deletion requests sent from the email address registered on your CareDirect account, or after verifying your identity through alternative means (such as a one-time password sent to your registered phone number).

We will acknowledge your request within 48 hours and complete the deletion within 30 days, in line with our obligations under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA), 2023.

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed from our active systems:

What data is retained, and why

Indian medical and tax laws require us to retain certain records even after account deletion. These records are retained in a restricted, non-personal form wherever possible, and are accessible only for the legal purposes listed below:

Retained records are no longer linked to your active account and cannot be used to sign you back in or contact you for marketing purposes.

If you only want to remove specific data

If you do not want to delete your entire account but want to remove specific information (for example, withdraw consent for an optional data type, delete an uploaded document, or correct your profile), you can do so directly inside the app under ProfilePrivacy & Security, or by emailing [email protected].

Right to complain

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your deletion request, you have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India, established under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
